That’s the record of the Florida State football program against Division 1-A competition since Oct. 15 of 2005 (which was the night the No. 4 Seminoles lost on the road to an unranked Virginia team).
Read that again. Let it sink it in, if you have a strong stomach. 25-23.

That’s right - National nightmare.
Seminole Nation has been living through this forgetful era since some time after Chris Rix (as time has gone on I’ve decided it wasn’t all his fault) began taking snaps for the Garnet and Gold.
I thought that maybe the Jacksonville State game was an aberration. Maybe the guys had lost focus after being gutted by the last second lose to Miami and a short week of preparation. They turned around and slaughtered BYU with such execution that it seemed like the trap-game against USF would be handled with care.
All I hear is a bunch of excuses about how if this play had gone our way or that mistake hadn’t happened things would have been different. Coach Bowden acknowledged USF was a great team so why didn’t he get the team ready?
The women’s volleyball team recently had a head coaching change because of team performance, why can’t the football team? How many more years do we have to suffer?
It appears that we are at worst stuck with Jimbo Fisher being the next head coach. I have no idea if he’s the best guy for the job. The powers that be chose him and unless someone has a few million lying around to pay him not to take over for Bobby that’s the way it will be.
We need Jimbo to be the man NOW. He needs his chance.
String bets aren’t allowed in poker. Why are we allowing Bobby to string along mediocre season after mediocre season?
I’m tired of the talk of letting the old man go out on his own. He’s not getting the job done.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to kick him to the curb, but he’s occupying a very expensive staff position and for what? To sweet talk the next Charlie Ward’s mom into letting her son come to Tallahassee in hopes reviving the glory days?
I grew up not knowing what it was like to see the Seminoles not be ranked in the top 5. A single loss season was bad and an ACC loss was completely unacceptable.
In my 5 years at Florida State I got to experience first hand with the track team as well as watch others like women’s soccer rise to national dominance with that same mindset.
It’s time we got back to that attitude with football and it starts with getting serious about showing Bobby the door (politely, of course). We need to stop being laissez-faire fans, folks.
We need to push for change. (Hell, Tommy Tuberville had one bad year in ten and he got the boot at Auburn.)
Lets throw him a grand party and whirlwind tour. He has certainly earned it.
Bobby, you will not be forgotten.
FSU’s 54 points against BYU tied for the most in school history against a top-10 team and is the most the Seminoles have scored in a non-conference road game since 1988 (59-0 over South Carolina).
